An Independent Publication

The Noct Journal exists as a publication in its own right. Its primary work is publishing research, articles, and investigations that readers can examine directly. It is not merely a support system for videos or a place to store material left over from media production.

The Journal is part of the broader NoctDura ecosystem, but it maintains a distinct editorial purpose. That purpose is to develop and preserve serious written work under transparent standards, with enough context for a reader to understand both a conclusion and the process used to reach it.

Research and Written Work First

The Journal publishes original research, technical analysis, investigations, evidence-based commentary, long form explainers and other source-backed articles. Different forms of work require different methods, but each should give readers a clear account of what was examined, what supports the argument and where the work's limits lie.

A Durable Written Record

A published article should preserve the full explanation, supporting evidence, sources, assumptions, limitations, uncertainty and reasoning behind its conclusions. This record gives readers something they can inspect, question and revisit. It also provides a stable place to record corrections when an error is found or an important qualification becomes necessary.

Videos, presentations, and other educational media may later adapt Journal work. Those formats can make an idea more accessible or present it to a different audience, but they are secondary outputs. The written article remains the primary and authoritative version.

Editorial Philosophy

The Journal aims to distinguish observed facts from inference, hypothesis, opinion and uncertainty. Every factual claim should be supported where practical and the strength of the language should reflect the strength of the available evidence. An interpretation should not be presented as an observation, and an unresolved question should not be written as a settled conclusion.

Publication does not make an article immune to error or revision. Evidence can change, new limitations can emerge and editorial judgments can be reconsidered. Corrections should remain visible so that the published record shows what changed and why.

Artificial Intelligence and Responsibility

Artificial intelligence can be a useful research and editorial tool when it is used responsibly. The Journal does not automatically reject work because AI was used, nor does it treat AI output as inherently accurate. Authors must disclose how it assisted their work. That disclosure may include grammar and spelling, readability, research organization, literature discovery, summarization, code assistance, draft assistance, or other research-related support.

AI assistance does not transfer responsibility. Authors remain responsible for factual accuracy and must verify the sources on which their work relies. Human editors make final editorial decisions. Artificial intelligence may assist the research process. It does not replace critical thinking, source verification, editorial judgment, or responsibility for the published work.

Transparency for Readers

Readers should be able to see how AI was used, whether relevant conflicts of interest exist, how work was funded, what editorial review it received, and whether it has a correction history. These disclosures provide context for evaluating an article; they do not replace the evidence and reasoning within it.
